Art Lessons for Youth (12+)

Learn the fundamentals of drawing, painting and sculpting.

Young people will have the freedom to initiate project ideas and therefore will enjoy the entire process – from concept to a completed work of art. (Projects typically take 6-8 sessions to complete.) Class size is limited to ensure individual guidance. Learn more here.

Depending on what the student wants to focus on, he/she will learn:

  • how to take an idea and develop it into a finished piece
  • how to mix paints to any colour
  • how to scale up using a grid
  • how to transfer a drawing to canvas
  • sketching techniques
  • painting techniques
  • working with acrylic mediums
  • working with clay (coil or slab methods)
  • working with paper mache`

  • My daughter has been having art lessons with Ms. Lisa for two years now. I took her to a few places and she picked it herself because she liked the idea of being able to choose what she worked on rather than a more structured class. She enjoys the small group and the one on one instruction within that. Lisa’s lessons are really tailored to individual student needs which is what we like about them. It has really become her happy space where she can unwind at the end of the week and build her confidence. She has become a great little artist and showing her work at the Arts Alive festival last summer gave her a sense of pride and accomplishment!
