This piece represents the creative process, when numbers and letters burst into ideas and words and mathematical equations. It was both fun and frustrating to make. I had a basic idea as to how I would approach it but it took on a life of it’s own. The black/silver portion was applied too thick so I used turpentine and a metal palette knife to scrape it back – and nearly passed out because of the fumes! I’m very pleased with the end result. The details of the layer underneath is visible now, and much more interesting to view. The piece has an almost 3D effect with the letters floating between sprays of colours.
