This self portrait was created while I was working two jobs, attending university full-time, while being a single mom of two young boys – and also maintaining an active social life. It was a busy time, often stressful. But I look back on those years with fondness, because it was then that I bloomed as an artist.
I’ve always been a fan of the graphic pop art from the sixties/seventies and so I created my own version. This fun piece incorporates newspaper and magazine clippings.
